Known
for its beautiful beaches, sunny climate and convenient location within
Honolulu, Kahala is one of Oahu's premier neighborhoods.
Many of the most expensive properties on Oahu
are located within the boundaries of Kahala. Kahala Avenue, running along the
beachfront stretch of Kahala, begins at Diamond Head and ends at the Kahala
Beach Hotel Resort.
The area includes Kahala Mall Shopping Center,
Kahala Mall Office Tower and a mixture of restaurants and service businesses.
Originally developed in the 1950's, many of
the homes within Kahala have been extensively remodeled or torn down and
rebuilt.
Beachfront homes start in the $3,000,000
range, with no upper limit. Interior Kahala homes in original condition,
advertised and priced as "tear downs", typically start at $1,500,000
and up. Renovated or Newly built Interior Kahala homes start around $2,500,000.
