Located within minutes of Kahala, Kaimuki, Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu, Maunalani Heights and Wilhelmina Rise is one of Honolulu's older ridge neighborhoods.
Developed in the 1930's by Matson Navigation Company, the street names reveal the nautical link with names like Lurline, Matsonia, Sierra and Wilhelmina - all cruise ships in the Matson fleet. Wilhelmina Rise is the lower two-thirds of this ridge. Maunalani Heights, located on the highest section of the the ridge, offers unobstructed views with below ground utilites.
Sought after for the area's convenience and cooler micro-climate, the homes range from 1930's Colonials to Contemporary glass walled dwellings. The lots are larger than in newer subdivisions and the trees and plantings are mature.
The views from this ridge are exceptional. A community park with Tennis and Basketball courts is located at the top of the ridge. A popular hiking trail is also entered on the highest point of Maunalani Heights.
Kaimuki, a vibrant shopping and eating district, is immediately at the bottom of Wilhelmina Rise. Kahala, the next adjacent community, is within 5 minutes and offers businesses, restaurants, shopping and beach access.
Homes range in price from $700,000 to $2,000,000.
